BOSSIER CITY, La. - The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers cruised to an easy 87-55 non-conference win over the Lake Houston School of Business and Technology Saturday at the Coach Billy Montgomery Gymnasium.
After starting slowly, BPCC would take control of the game midway through the first half and never look back. Lake Houston kept it close early on, even tying the game at 13. However, the Cavaliers would ouscore the Panthers 43-19 the rest of the first half to take a 56-32 lead at the break. \
Four Cavaliers reached double figures in the game, including Will LaPoole, who scored a team-high 20 points. Aaron Gregg added 14, while Alan Lang had 12 and EJ Clark finished with 11 for BPCC.
Lake Houston's Jamarkez Christy, who's a Ponchatoula, La. native, led all scorers with a game-high 29 points. Deion Humphrey was the only other Panther to reach double figures as he scored 11 in the losing effort.
With the win, BPCC improves its overall record to 14-8. The Cavaliers return to Region XIV action on Wednesday, Feb. 8 when they travel to Tyler, Texas to take on the No. 8 Tyler Junior College Apaches. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at TJC's Wagstaff Gymnasium.
