Cavaliers Drop Road Contest at Angelina College

Cavaliers Drop Road Contest at Angelina College

The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers dropped a 62-33 decision on the road Saturday afternoon to Angelina College. Despite the final score, BPCC remained active defensively and continued to compete throughout the contest.

Head Coach Jeff Moore pointed to an uncharacteristic shooting performance as the difference in the game.

“It was probably the worst shooting night of the season for our team — we couldn’t get anything to fall,” Moore said. “Defensively, I thought we played pretty well but couldn’t overcome our shooting woes.”

The Cavaliers shot 28 percent from the field overall and 17 percent from three-point range. Zequan Lewis led BPCC with 11 points, five rebounds and three assists. Tony Montgomery and Drew Cooper each added five rebounds.

With four games remaining in the regular season — two at home and two on the road — the Cavaliers now shift their focus to a key week ahead. BPCC returns to action Wednesday at 7 p.m. when it hosts Lamar State College - Port Arthur. The Cavaliers will then celebrate Sophomore Day on Saturday at 4 p.m. against Blinn College as they honor their second-year players during their final home stretch of the regular season.
