BAYTOWN, TX – The Bossier Parish Community College men’s basketball team dropped a Region XIV road contest Wednesday night, falling to Lee College 87–66. BPCC trailed 39–27 at halftime and was unable to close the gap in the second half as Lee College outscored the Cavaliers by nine points after the break to secure the win.
Tony Montgomery led the Cavaliers with 24 points, adding three rebounds and two steals. Drew Cooper finished with 18 points and five rebounds, while Zequan Lewis contributed 10 points. BPCC struggled to find consistent momentum offensively in the second half, allowing Lee to extend its lead down the stretch. Head Coach Jeff Moore said the team had difficulty matching up defensively throughout the game.
“They isolated us a lot on defense and took advantage of mismatches on the court,” Moore said. “We had a stretch in the second half where we missed some easy baskets and they pushed out their lead.”
The Cavaliers (10-19 overall, 4-17 in conference) will close the regular season on the road Saturday afternoon at Coastal Bend College. Tip-off is set for 2pm. The Region XIV Tournament is scheduled to begin Tuesday, March 10, at Lee College in Baytown, Texas.
