Lady Cavaliers Power Past LSCPA in Doubleheader Sweep

The Bossier Parish Community College Lady Cavaliers used a powerful offensive performance to sweep Lamar State College–Port Arthur in a home doubleheader Friday, defeating the Seahawks 4–1 in Game 1 and 9–6 in Game 2.

BPCC combined timely hitting with multiple home runs throughout the day to set the tone offensively and secure the sweep.

The Cavaliers struck first in the opener when sophomore Mackenzie Gaspard launched a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the first inning, giving BPCC an early lead. The Cavaliers continued to generate offense throughout the game, while freshman Clélia Costes delivered a strong performance in the circle. Costes threw a complete game, allowing just one run and striking out eight. Sophomore Morgan Faunce led the BPCC offense in Game 1, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

The Lady Cavaliers' bats stayed hot in Game 2 as BPCC erupted for 14 hits and multiple home runs in a 9–6 victory.

BPCC tied the game in the third inning when freshman Makayla Martinez blasted a solo home run to center field. Juliana Bosco followed with an RBI single to keep the offensive momentum going. The Cavaliers took control in the fourth inning. Chloe Stafford drove in a run with a single, Gaspard delivered a two-run double, and Samantha Land followed with an RBI single to extend the BPCC lead.

Martinez added another highlight in the fifth inning with her second solo home run of the game. Faunce capped the scoring in the sixth inning with a solo home run as the Cavaliers continued their aggressive approach at the plate. Gaspard and Land each recorded three hits in the nightcap, while Faunce added two hits as BPCC's offense consistently applied pressure throughout the game.

In the circle, Katy Allen, Sydney Millea, Mackenzie Gaspard and Clélia Costes combined to secure the Game 2 win.
