CARTHAGE, Texas - The Panola College Fillies scored 30 points in the third quarter to overcome a 14-point halftime deficit then hung on to defeat the Bossier Parish Community College Lady Cavaliers here Wednesday afternoon.
Trailing 42-28 at halftime, Panola outscored Bossier Parish 30-17 in the third quarter to trail by just one point, 59-58, at the end of the period. The Fillies then outscored the Lady Cavs 17-13 in the fourth quarter to capture the 75-72 come-from-behind win.
Despite the loss, BPCC had three players, Ma'Kaila Lewis, Majegane Barry and Faith Robinson, register double-doubles. Lewis led the Lady Cavs with 25 points and 10 rebounds, while Barry scored 14 points and grabbed a game-high 18 rebounds and Robinson added 12 points and 12 rebounds.
With the win, Panola improves to 4-3 overall and 4-0 in Region XIV. The loss drops BPCC to 3-5 overall and 0-4 in region play.
